어린이를 위한 여가와 시청각교육: 고려문화사와 국민음악연구회를 중심으로
초록
This study investigates the multifaceted nature of audiovisual education in Korea, encompassing the effective selection of teaching media in alignment with the school curriculum and the broader social dissemination of art education through media. Additionally, the evolving medium specific characteristics that artists need to consider in the context of technological developments are explored. To examine these properties, two prominent publishers, Goryeo-Munhwa Publishing Company and Gungmin-Eumag-Yeonguhoe Publishing Company, and their flagship publications, The Children’s Newspaper and The Middle School Music Textbook, are analyzed, along with the creative activities of playwrights and musicians involved in these publications. Through this analysis, three distinct aspects of audiovisual education are identified: the intermedial approach, in which one theme and story are transformed across various media such as comics, novels, radio dramas, and movies, as illustrated by The Adventure of Ttolttori (Ttolttoriui Moheom); the development of film as an art form that integrates music, dance, and photography, as exemplified in the movie Nakdong River; and the distribution of educational films, such as the Korean Audiovisual Cultural Education Center by Gangryeom Lee, which overcomes the challenges of the educational medium in musical education. This study argues that audiovisual education is not only an educational experiment but also an artistic one, highlighting the significance of its investigation for emerging artists in preparing for the future of art.
