교차로 진입 전의 우회전 운전자를 위한 실시간 보행신호등 알림 시스템 개발

초록

In South Korea, a right-hand turn on red(RTOR) that enables a right-hand turn is allowed even when the traffic light is red. However, as collisions with pedestrians continue when making a right-hand turn, the Road Traffic Act was revised to pause when the signal in front is red in 2022. However, the rate of right-hand turn accident after the revision is rather on the rise. Accordingly, in this study, a state change notification system for front crosswalk traffic lights was developed based on real-time traffic light public data. The System induces a preemptive stop by playing a notification if it is similar to the time when the pedestrian signal light is changed to green illumination when approaching the crosswalk. To verify the safety and reliability of this study, virtual right-hand turns and real right-turns were performed dangerous right turn was detected at about 6%. As a result, it was confirmed that was played the notification when the walking signal lights was changed to green light through the actual right turn, and that the driver was able to stop preemptively made without passing through the crosswalk.
