생성형 AI 활용 영상제작구조 전환에 대한 탐색적 연구 - 비선형 프로덕션 구조와 인간- AI협업 양상 분석을 중심으로

초록

This study analyzes a short film produced using multiple generative AI tools—Midjourney, Whisk, Runway ML, and ChatGPT—to elucidate the structural characteristics of AI-based video production and the mechanisms that govern human–AI collaborative creativity. The researcher created a 10-minute short film in 2025 and systemati cally collected intermediate production artifacts, including planning documents, storyboard images, prompt logs, generated video clips, and color-grading files, to empirically examine the operational dynamics of AI-assisted pro duction workflows. The analysis reveals that AI-driven filmmaking diverges markedly from the linear production paradigms under lying traditional live-action and 3D animation practices. Instead, it exhibits a nonlinear and recursive workflow characterized by iterative cycles of planning, generation, revision, and regeneration. While the complementary use of T2V, I2V, and I2I models contributed to establishing visual and narrative coherence, the AI models demon strated structural limitations in maintaining character consistency, rendering complex motion, and reproducing ac curate color. Addressing these limitations required substantial human intervention, including fine-grained story board subdivision, precise prompt engineering, iterative adjustment of reference images, and professional post-production color grading. The findings suggest that generative AI functions not as an autonomous creative system but rather as a collabo rative tool whose efficacy depends fundamentally on human design, evaluative judgment, and corrective mediation. Although AI expands accessibility to film production and enhances early-stage generative efficiency, it simulta neously introduces new labor demands, cost structures, and creative competencies. This study offers an early em pirical foundation for understanding AI-assisted video production and provides meaningful implications for future research on human–AI collaboration, media production methodologies, and the evolving ontology of creative labor.
