蘇軾詩 속 시어 ‘麋鹿’ 사용에 관한 일고찰

초록

This paper focuses on the repeated appearance of the poetic term “Mi-Lu(麋鹿, Père David’s deer)” in Su Shi’s poetry. The study analyzes how this term is used in various works by Su Shi, what messages the poet intended to convey through it, and further discusses the background and characteristics of Su Shi’s choice to employ this specific term. As a result, it was found that the term Mi-Lu appears a total of 16 times in Su Shi’s body of work and is used consistently from his early to late compositions. The study confirms that in most cases, Mi-Lu symbolizes a life free from constraints or expresses a longing for such a life. Additionally, the paper discusses the concentrated use of Mi-Lu during specific periods of Su Shi’s life, linking this phenomenon to his political career. It also explores the reasons behind Su Shi’s outstanding achievements with the term Mi-Lu, more so than any other poet. This success is attributed to his “Kuang-Fang-Bu-ji(曠放不羈, Free-spirited and unrestrained)” personality, which drove him to ardently pursue freedom and liberation, and to his inheritance of the literary tradition of using Cervidae imagery to express themes of “Yin-Yi(隱逸, reclusion)”, with a particular focus on the term Mi-Lu.
