‘친교의 사람’ 양성 토양이 더 비옥해지기 위하여: 사제 양성에서 여성의 기여

초록

This study examines the significance of women’s participation in the formation of priests, in line with the contemporary Catholic Church’s recommendation for the responsible and active involvement of women in priestly formation. To this end, it first reviews the ontological dimension of priesthood as presented in modern magisterial documents, the methods of formation proposed for this purpose, and the approaches to priestly formation reflected in the official documents of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. The contemporary Catholic Church warns against an overly functionalist understanding of priesthood and instead, emphasizes its ontological dimension-namely, the priest as the sacramental representation of Christ, in order to maintain a balance between these two aspects. Consequently, the process of priestly formation is seen as a journey of ‘configuratio Christi’. From this perspective, the priest is described as a person of communion, with his pastoral activities guided by the principle of the Shepherd’s love. To achieve this, modern magisterial documents emphasize the integration of four dimensions: human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral. Meanwhile, for the realization of synodality, two methods are necessary: integrative formation of theory and practice, and common formation. Since relationships are particularly important in realizing synodality,the idea of ‘common formation’ is emphasized. The magisterium also encourages the participation of women in priestly formation for the sake of integrative formation.
