An impurity spin in one-dimensional antisymmetric spin filter

The influence of an impurity spin in one-dimensional antisymmetric spin filter is studied employing the poor man's scaling renormalization group ( RG) method. The Zeeman energy of the impurity spin prevents the scaling flow entering strong coupling regime, hence the spin filtering mechanism remains robust against the impurity spin. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
