초록

We propose a novel microfluidic reactor for water purification, in which the photocatalytic reaction is assisted effciently by nanoelectrokinetics. Porous carbon fabric used as substrate for coating TiO2 nanoparticles improves the photocatalytic activity owing to high surface-to-volume ratio, high oxygen permeability, and the effect of carbon doping that narrows the bandgap of TiO2. Furthermore, concentration polarization of ions and molecules in the compartment between the electrodes is induced by an applied potential bias, and it generates the potential drop across the catalyst membrane. This addresses the problem of the recombination of photo-excited electrons and holes, and facilitates the photocatalytic reaction. © 2020 CBMS-0001
