‘V-기’ 반복 구문의 유형과 그 형성 동기 및 과정

The Types, Motivation, and Formation of Korean ‘V-ki’ Reduplication Constructions

초록

There are two types of ‘V-ki’ reduplication constructions in Korean: ‘V-ki’ negative implicature construction(VNC) and ‘V-ki’ cleft construction(VCC). The VNC is motivated or necessitated by the scope taking over V and negative implicature. This leads to the formation process which is composed of nominalizer ‘-ki’, delimiter, V copy. And in this construction, the V copy copies the phonological property of V only. So, the ‘ha-’ support can substitute V copy. The VCC is motivated by the gap of normal cleft constructions, and composed of nominalizer ‘-ki’, delimiter, V copy. What is important is that in VCC the syntactic property such as argument taking property as well as phonological property is copied. This leads to the prohibition of ‘ha-’ support and parallel projection of independently formed verbal phrases, whose heads are copies of the same V.
