The development of DCT shift mechanism based on the barrel cam

DCT has comfortable of change of speed automatic transmission and high efficiency of manual transmission at once. However DCT has complicated structure and is has difficult to develop. In this study, we apply the shift mechanism based on a barrel cam to indicate the efficient shift mechanism. We has gone to analysis of design to cam-profile such as cycloid curve, polynomial curve and modified sine curve. We analyzed the multi-body dynamics of shift mechanism that are included barrel cam, per-select synchronizer and fork and then we found from the simulation results that the angular velocities of engage and disengage of shift mechanism and contact force. In addition, this simulation is proposed to reduce the shift shock and response time during the shift process.
