초록

In recent years, considerable effort has been devoted to understanding and improving the performances of polymeric thin films for use in advanced applications. Because the physical properties of nanoscale polymeric thin films depend on their chemical and physical structures, the effects of those properties on the interfacial properties are still uncertain in a number of cases. Neutron reflectivity has been important during the last few decades for the study of surfaces and interfaces, so we focused more on neutron reflection as the main tool to determine the structures and the dynamics of polymer thin films. In this review, we emphasize the basic principles of neutron reflection; the physical properties that are important in the dynamics of polymers, i.e., the wetting and the dewetting behaviors, as well as the interdiffusion dynamics; and the polymer thin films at mobile interfaces (liquids or supercritical fluids). Furthermore, we introduce the novel techniques through neutron reflection for advanced polymeric materials.
