한국 고등학생의 일반영어능숙도와 경동사 구사력 간의 상관관계

초록

This study investigates the correlation between Korean high school students’ general English proficiency and their competence for light verbs make and take and their common errors. 43 questions for light verbs have been created and tested with 92 high school students divided into four groups according to their marks of midterm and final exams at school, which are regarded as their general English proficiency. Overall, there is no correlation between the students’ general English proficiency and light verb competence among the four groups. However, the highest rank group shows the highest score in the collocation test, which weakly suggests a relation between general English proficiency and light verb competence in a high-rank group only. Students exhibit better scores in the light verb phrases with take than in those phrases with make, showing that students have different competence depending on light verbs.
