케이팝 아이돌 연습생 경험자의 진로 전환 경험에 관한 합의적 질적 연구

초록

This study explored the career transition experience of former K-pop idol trainees to offer foundational data for counseling practices for them. Interviews were conducted with 10 adults who had spent at least six months as trainees during their teens and subsequently transitioned to non-idol career paths. The data were analyzed using Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR). The analysis identified 3 domains, 9 sub-domains, 26 categories, and 23 sub-categories. First, within the ‘Difficulties’ domain, categories were derived across three sub-domains according to the dimension of difficulty experienced: ‘Psychological Difficulties,’ ‘Relational Difficulties,’ and ‘Practical Constraints.’ Second, within the ‘Helpful Experiences’ domain, categories were derived across four sub-domains based on the dimension of support received: ‘Individual Efforts,’ ‘Social Supports,’ ‘Institutional Supports,’ and ‘Other Supports.’ Third, within the ‘Necessary Help’ domain, categories were derived across two sub-domains according to the period when assistance was required: the 'Trainee Period' and the ‘Career Transition Period.’ Based on these findings, the implications of this study and the suggestion for future studies were discussed.
