유도 전동기와 라인 기동식 영구자석 전동기의 열전달 특성에 관한 수치적 연구

NUMERICAL STUDY ON THE HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF AN INDUCTION MOTOR AND A LINE-START PERMANENT MAGNET MOTOR

초록

This work focuses on the thermal generation and heat transfer characteristics of a line-start permanent magnet motor(LSPM), which is considered the most suitable alternative to an induction motor(IM). Three-dimensional computations are conducted to analyze the flow and thermal characteristics of an IM and a LSPM for heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications. The simulation results are validated through the experimental data. The present computations show that the maximum temperature occurs in the rotor, 50% of which is dissipated to the outside through the air-gap and that the LSPM differs from the IM in the temperature distribution due to the low thermal conductivity of the magnets. The heat transfer path characteristics of each motor are comparatively analyzed according to the thermal generation rate and magnets.
