A Generative AI-Based Production Platform for Webtoon-to-Video Conversion

초록

This paper proposes an AI-based integrated pipeline and platform that automatically converts webtoon content into short-form videos. The system adopts a 3-tier architecture composed of a producer platform, a consumer platform, and a shared backend. The producer platform carries out a 7-stage pipeline—cut segmentation, LLM-based story and emotion analysis, photorealistic image generation, video clip generation, and transition/BGM editing—mostly automatically from a webtoon input, while the user intervenes only in cut selection and minor edits. In particular, it analyzes the storyline of an entire episode and references it at every subsequent stage to realize advanced automatic prompting, and uses the first cut of a sequence as a style anchor together with a user-provided character reference image to preserve color tone and character consistency. The significance of this work lies in proposing an end-to-end environment in which non-expert creators can produce and distribute high-quality short-form content without complex prompting knowledge.
