미국에서의 북한 연구: 냉전의 재생산

초록

North Korean studies in the U.S. don't break away the snare of the cold war. Through the 'axis of evil' by Bush Administration and the image of Kim JongIl expressed ridiculously in the media, we can recognize that North Korea has been embodied as the enemy againt the U.S. North Korea is expressed as the three images: satellite state(puppet state), autocrat state, hereditary state(cult of personality). And to analyze the above images, they use the theoretical frame as like totalitarianism, cofucianism and paternalism. North Korean studies are on the side of hostility, hatred and also depened on the second materials and over-theoretical frame. As a result, the study on the North Korea don't breal away from the above images. Although the researches on the North Korea in the U.S. has been developed and vried such as the politics, economy, social-culture and military, a large part of the researches reproduce the cold war images, and then have a big impact on the policy toward North Korea. This reflects that the cold war between North Korea and the U.S. is not dismantled, and means the reiterate the 'reproduction of the cold war.'
