한국사능력검정시험 평가 문항 현황과 개선 방안

초록

The goal of this study is to examine the legitimacy and credibility of evaluation framework of the Korean History Competency Tests(the Tests, in short) based on the analysis of content and evaluation criteria of test items in the 6-9th Tests. By doing so, we would like to provide productive suggestions for enhancing the Tests as one of the most credible tests for the history competency. The analysis results indicate that the contents of the Test has a tendency to focus on the political history and cultural history as well. More than half of all test items in intermediate and advanced level of the Tests turn out to evaluate the Chosun dynasty and modern-contemporary periods of Korea. While the Tests consist of six evaluation criteria for historical thinking, the most frequent criteria appears to be "understanding of historical knowledge" and the least one "conclusion and evaluation."To enhance the evaluation system of the Tests, we provide several suggestions regarding objective and content criteria and hierarchy of the evaluation content. Furthermore, we emphasize the endeavor to construct test items adequately to the level of the test in the areas of historical periods, themes, and evaluation criteria. We also put emphasis to the need that data related to the evaluation process should be released to professionals who may engage in collaborative efforts to improve the Test system.
