동아시아 4개국의 행복감 비교 - 한국, 중국, 일본, 대만을 중심으로 -

초록

This study aims to investigate the differences and determinants of the happiness among 4 countries of East Asia(Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan). For this research, survey data of EASS (East Asian Social Survey)2012 was used. The Major findings of this study were as follows: First, the happiness was higher in the order of China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. Second, variables affecting the happiness were sex, age, marital status, religion, education, income, occupation, subjective class identification, subjective health status. However, there was a big difference in regression analysis for each country. In Japan, many variables of personal characters had significant effect. But in Korea, China and Taiwan, there were much fewer significant variables of personal characters. and income variable was found to have a casual effect only in China and Taiwan. occupational status was found to have a casual effect only in China and Japan. but, subjective class identification and subjective health status were found to have a statistically significant positive casual effect on the happiness in all those four countries. This means that in East Asia where objective conditions of happiness are quite sought after but psychological factors seems to be more important than objective resource in predicting happiness.
