Quick immunoassay of amyloid beta (Aβ) in exosomes from plasma using magnetic microparticles in water-oil droplets for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease

The early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is essential for the effective care of AD patients. Blood-based diagnosis of AD was tackled by measuring oligomer amyloid beta in exosomes. We isolated exosomes from patient plasma using magnetic bead manipulation in aqueous droplets followed by droplet-based ELISA at the same chip. After immunoreaction, the magnetic beads were transported to BEIS sensor to measure the concentration of Aβ in exosome. The simple and quick exosome isolation and ELISA were performed in droplet manipulation chip and discriminating AD patient and normal control was successfully achieved. © 17CBMS-0001.
