일본어 ‘寂しい(sabishii)’에 대응하는 한국어 감정형용사의 의미 특성 연구-관형사형 수식 구조에 나타나는 핵어 명사의 의미 분포를 중심으로-

초록

Korean and Japanese exhibit significant differences in their emotional adjective systems. Notably, the Japanese adjective “寂しい(sabishii)” corresponds to various Korean adjectives such as “외롭다(oeropda)”, “쓸쓸하다(sseulsseulhada)”, “섭섭하다(seopseophada)”, “서운하다(seounhada)”, and “허전하다 (heojeonhada)”. While Korean utilizes finely subdivided vocabulary based on specific emotional states and contexts, Japanese tends to rely on a single core lexical item. This discrepancy often leads to difficulties for Japanese learners of Korean in accurately distinguishing and using these terms. Based on this problem, this study analyzed the semantic distribution of nouns following these five Korean emotional adjectives when used in their adnominal forms based on corpus data. Furthermore, it examines the differences in the semantic categories of head nouns between these Korean adjectives and “寂しい(sabishii)” through Japanese corpus examples. The findings reveal that the semantic categories of head nouns combined with each emotional adjective are distributed differently, and distinct patterns of noun collocation also appear when compared to the Japanese “寂しい(sabishii)”. Unlike previous studies that focused primarily on analyzing synonym pairs from native Korean speakers’ perspective, this research holds academic significance by using the Japanese counterparts as a starting point and applying a corpus-based analysis of head noun distribution. Moreover, its educational significance lies in providing foundational data for developing emotional adjective teaching materials specifically tailored to Japanese learners of Korean.
