중국어 비전형 술목 구조의 음절적 비대칭성 연구 — 단음절⋅쌍음절 동사의 통사⋅의미적 특성을 중심으로

This study examines the syntactic and semantic asymmetries between monosyllabic verb-based V₁+O structures and disyllabic verb-based V₂+O structures within atypical verb-object constructions in Modern Chinese. Syntactically, V₁+O structures exhibit strong constraints on topicalization and separability, thereby showing characteristics of conventionalized expressions, whereas V₂+O structures maintain a relatively high degree of syntactic transparency. Semantically, V₁+O structures tend to undergo active semantic restructuring and lexicalization toward denoting specific activity types or social conventions, while in V₂+O structures the semantic role of the object remains comparatively concrete and transparent within the event structure. In addition, V₁+O structures, centered on high-frequency monosyllabic verbs, display a radial productivity in which objects from various semantic categories can combine with the verb. By contrast, V₂+O structures exhibit a dense productivity characterized by the substitution and expansion of nouns within the same semantic category. In conclusion, the asymmetry between the two structures should not be understood merely as a difference in syllable number, but rather as a continuum between lexical cohesion and syntactic transparency. Such differences result from the combined interaction of syllabic structure, semantic specificity, frequency of use, and constructional conventionalization.
