In the gauge-invariant formulation of the minimal chiral Schwinger model, we explicitly show the role of the Wess-Zumino field, which seems to be dynamical in the matter gauge phi(L)=0. Furthermore, in this gauge we show how the left-handed chirality is maintained in the physical Hilbert space.
