초록

In this study, a numerical computation of gas-liquid interfacial flows was performed by using a Level Set (LS) method for various applications. The free surface motion from initial disturbed surface and drop motion on an inclined wall due to the gravity were computed for the verification of the simulation with a LS method. The binary drop collision was also simulated in the present study. After the drop collision, the behavior of drop and formation of satellite drop were obtained. Furthermore, an impact of a drop on a liquid film/pool was simulated. From the results, the crown formation and bubble entrapment were successfully observed. The present numerical results showed a good agreement with the theoretical and available experimental data, and hence, the LS method for interface tracking can be applied to various flow problems with sharp gas-liquid interfaces.
