Large-N expansion for degenerate extended Fallcov-Kimball model

The degenerate Falicov-Kimball model with on-site hybridization between conduction and localized electrons is studied by using slave boson method in saddle point approximation in the context of large-N expansion. The saddle point solution shows that the Kondo-type resonance enhances the excitonic effects even if the bare-f-level is located deep in Fermi sea. The renormalized hybridized band and the density of states off electrons are also found. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
