초록

Color change of colloidal crystal-PDMS composite can be induced by chemical swelling of the embedded PDMS in the lattice structure when exposed to volatile organic compounds (VOC). Based on this property, we had developed 'Nanoscale Easy Tear (NET) Process' enabling rapid color change by allowing direct contact of the composite with VOC. Here, we investigate the effect of an additional PDMS layer on the top of composite in order to improve the bandgap of color change. Resultantly, the color change with the thin PDMS layer increase over 2 times compared to the change without the layer when exposed to ethanol. This increase may come from the change of equilibrium point of chemical absorption/desorption due to the additional PDMS layer. © 2019 CBMS-0001.
